Olivia Joseph, a kindergarten teacher at Howard Norman Elementary, received the Milken Educator Award, recognized as one of the best teachers in the country and the only recipient in Texas. A graduate of Hutto ISD, Olivia Joseph is devoted to preparing the community’s future leaders. She cultivates a warm, supportive and academically rigorous environment for her kindergarteners at Howard Norman Elementary School.

Hutto ISD is proud to announce that the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) has recognized Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Caleb Steed as a 2026 Public Education Ambassador Award recipient. This statewide recognition honors TASBO members for their leadership and performance in the school business profession. 

Hutto Independent School District continues to set the standard for excellence in public education operations, earning the 2026 Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations from the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). This marks the eighth consecutive year Hutto ISD has received the prestigious recognition.

Hutto Independent School District’s Communications & Community Relations team has been recognized among the top school communication programs in Texas, earning 19 awards at the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Star Awards, including two Best of Category honors. The Office of Communications & Community Relations was also named a Crystal Award finalist, one of the association’s highest levels of recognition, for superior event planning and partnership during the 2025 Back to School Rally.

Hutto ISD today announced Casey Walraven as its next head varsity football coach. Walraven arrives in Hippo Nation with 15 years of head coaching experience, including the last five seasons building Alvarado ISD into one of the top 4A programs in the state. Walraven boasts a reputation as one of the elite offensive minds in Texas high school football.

Hutto ISD is proud to announce that Benji Adams and Anna Moldenhauer, school counselors at Hutto Elementary School, have been awarded the CREST Award by the Texas Counseling Association.
